About Us

Marin Foster Care Association focuses on turning a period of profound crisis in a child's life into a time of security, healing and opportunity. Our mission of  providing comprehensive resources that inspire and empower the foster care community is advanced through the following programs:

• Maintain the Community Resource Center, which provides free clothing, shoes, baby gear, school supplies, books and toys for foster children who often arrive in care with only the clothes on their backs
• Grow our Opportunity Project fund, which enables foster children to have greater access to academic tutoring, sports teams, arts and music education, outdoor adventures, and other activities tailored to their individual needs and special interests
• Enhance our Fostering Interconnection Through Therapy (FITT) mental health programs that equip caregivers and their biological family members to manage the complex range of issues that can arise in foster care
• Develop and implement caregiver training and support groups
• Plan outings and events where foster children and their families can connect and experience a sense of community as they redefine their new “normal”
• Manage our TWO new apartment buildings for aging-out foster youth and grow support services to help them on their road to independence
